Sakura nabe

Horse meat pot dish “Sakura Nabe”
Tokyo

Sakura nabe introduction

It is a traditional dish in downtown Tokyo, and its history dates back to the Meiji period. It is said that the name of cherry meat is derived from the fact that horse meat stores nutrients during the winter and is delicious in the season of cherry blossoms. Horse meat (cherry meat) eaten like sukiyaki in a miso-based pot is high protein, low calorie, and nutritious. There were many shops near Yoshiwara and other colored streets. Horse meat has no smell at all and is characterized by a thick taste.
