Soy Sauce Katsu Bowl
A local specialty of Fukui: "Soy Sauce Katsu Bowl"
About Soy Sauce Katsu Bowl
Soy Sauce Katsu Bowl (醤油カツ丼, Shoyu Katsu-don) is a new specialty from the Ono area, featuring a unique soy sauce-based sauce and a generous serving of fresh vegetables.
This highly recommended dish was created in collaboration with the president of a local soy sauce manufacturer. It starts with a bed of rice topped with crisp shredded cabbage, followed by a juicy pork cutlet. On top of the cutlet, you'll find grated daikon radish accompanied by shiso leaves and green onions. Compared to the richer sauce katsu-don, this dish has a lighter, refreshing flavor, making it popular among women and seniors alike.
The proper way to enjoy Soy Sauce Katsu Bowl is by pouring the warm soy sauce over it right before eating. Be sure to try this comforting dish at our restaurant!
