Wild-Caught Freshwater Eel
Specially delicious, rich and fatty wild eel from Fukui!
About Wild-Caught Freshwater Eel
In Fukui Prefecture's Wakasa and Mikata Five Lakes, you can find wild-caught freshwater eel. The eels from the Mikata Five Lakes are also known by the nickname "Kuchiboso Ao Unagi," meaning "slim-mouth blue eel." This variety of eel has a slightly tapered shape from its pectoral fins to its mouth with a bluish hue on its back.
These blue-tinted, slender-mouth eels have thick, tender flesh that is rich with fat, melting deliciously in your mouth with every bite. Experience a natural delicacy like no other with wild eel from this pristine region.
