Jabara

A slight bitterness that remains after sourness
Wakayama

Jabara introduction

Jabara is a phantom citrus that grew only one naturally in Kitayama-mura, Wakayama prefecture. Its major characteristics are its unique aroma and acidity, and that it contains a lot of components of narirutin, which suppresses hay fever and asthma. It became very popular since it was reported that it was effective in suppressing hay fever. The size is one size smaller than the smaller mandarin oranges, and the color goes from bright green to yellow as it ripens. The taste is characterized by a “bitterness” feeling that leaves a slight bitterness after a strong acidity, and a mellow flavor.
