Shiumai Bento
A nostalgic bento box that tastes comforting every time
About Shiumai Bento
Shiumai Bento (シウマイ弁当, Shiumai bento) is said to have been inspired by the shumai dumplings sold in Yokohama’s Chinatown, as Yokohama originally lacked unique local specialties. Today, it has become a quintessential ekiben (station bento) of Yokohama.
Many people say the shiumai in the Shiumai Bento tastes just as good when eaten cold, and personally, I even think it tastes better that way (though that’s just my opinion!).
