Mehari sushi
Open your mouth so big to see and eat!
About Mehari sushi
Mehari Sushi is a regional dish of the Yoshino region, mainly in the Kumano region that spans Wakayama and Mie prefectures, and Yoshino County, Nara Prefecture.
It is a rice ball for bento wrapped in shallow pickled leaves of Takana, and it seems that it began to be made as a bento to eaten between mountain work and field work.
There are various theories about the origin of the name, such as “open your mouth and eat it with an eye-popping big mouth.”
