เกี่ยวกับ Hashirii Mochi
Hashirii Mochi (走り井餅, Hashirii mochi) is a traditional treat from Oiwake, which was once a bustling gateway to Kyoto along the Tokaido road, frequented by many travelers. This area was lined with teahouses to serve the weary.
First made in 1764 during the era of the 10th Shogun Tokugawa Ieharu, Hashirii Mochi is crafted using the pure spring water of Hashirii and high-quality Omi rice. It provided travelers with nourishment and energy for their journey, pairing perfectly with tea brewed from Hashirii's water to quench thirst and rejuvenate tired travelers.
The unique shape of Hashirii Mochi represents the dynamic flow of abundant water and splashing droplets. Recognized for centuries, it stands as one of the most famous specialties of the Tokaido road, cherished all across Japan.
