Imoni
A heartwarming autumn tradition, perfect for gatherings and hospitality
About Imoni
In Tsuwano, as autumn approaches, you’ll often hear locals say, "It’s the season for Imoni." Imoni is a delightful stew made primarily with roasted sea bream and taro, ingredients that perfectly embody the flavors of the season. The taro from the Sasayama area, nestled at the base of Mt. Aono, is particularly prized for its rich taste, a result of the volcanic soil in the region. Imoni (芋煮) is more than just a dish—it's an essential part of autumn in Tsuwano, bringing people together for hospitality and enjoyment.
