Misaki Don
A gift from the lighthouse and the sea, the ultimate seafood bowl awaits you.
About Misaki Don
Misaki Don (みさき丼, Misaki-don) is a beloved seafood rice bowl from Hinomisaki, home to Japan's tallest stone lighthouse.
This decadent dish features an array of freshly caught local seafood, beautifully arranged and seasoned with a special soy-based sauce unique to each establishment. Highlights include the "Kajime Don," recognized for the silky texture of kajime seaweed, and the "Japan Sea Don," which showcases seasonal fish marinated in a house-made soy sauce and topped with grated yam for a delightful twist.
Served at five different shops, each offering its own signature flavor, Misaki Don takes full advantage of the region's fresh seafood bounty. This exquisite dish is a true Hinomisaki specialty that you won't find anywhere else.
