About Sater under Ghee

Sata under gi is a traditional deep-fried confectionery in Okinawa prefecture.
In the Okinawan dialect, “sater” refers to sugar, “anda” refers to oil, and “agi” refers to frying, but by extending the ending, undergy means “fried in oil”.
Sata undergi, which is made from flour, eggs, sugar, etc., and slowly deep-fried at a low temperature is the most popular snack in Okinawa because of its crispy, crunchy batter and moist texture.
It is considered an auspicious confectionery because the cracks that occur when fried make you smile with a broken face or look like flowers bloom.
