Himuka Premium Mackerel (ひむか本サバ, Himuka hon-saba) is a certified seafood brand from Miyazaki Prefecture.
Carefully cultivated in the northeast region of Kitaura, this mackerel is raised using natural fry and adheres to a strict no-antibiotics policy. Each fish’s farming history is fully traceable, and before shipping, they are starved for over seven days to completely cleanse their stomachs, ensuring consistent meat quality.
Not only is the flesh firm and flavorful with just the right amount of fat, but it also delivers a rich taste that is highly praised, especially when served as sashimi. Only Japanese mackerel weighing over 400g are selected and marketed under the prestigious Himuka Premium Mackerel brand.
