Matsuba Crab from Tottori
The king of winter flavors in Tottori: premium Matsuba crab

About Matsuba Crab from Tottori
Matsuba crab (松葉がに, Matsuba gani) refers to the mature male snow crab, renowned as a winter specialty of Tottori for its plump, succulent meat and delicate, refined flavor.
The crabbing season runs from early November to March, during the chilly winter months when the waves of the Sea of Japan are at their roughest. Matsuba crab is prized for its firm, meaty texture packed into its large shell, and it’s delicious whether boiled or grilled. The rich crab tomalley (miso) makes the perfect pairing with rice or sake. A delightful treat not to be missed—be sure to try it!
