Fried Potato Skewers
The soul food of Sano City in Tochigi Prefecture!

About Fried Potato Skewers
Fried Potato Skewers (いもフライ, Imo Furai) originated after World War II when they were first sold from carts by vendors to local women working in Sano City’s silk weaving industry.
These snacks are made by steaming potatoes, skewering them, frying until golden, and drizzling with a tangy sauce before serving. They are perfect for satisfying a small hunger, and they taste best when freshly fried!
