Deko Mawashi
The signature delicacy of Miyoshi City's Iya region
เกี่ยวกับ Deko Mawashi
Deko Mawashi (でこまわし) is a type of miso-dengaku, featuring local ingredients such as potatoes, buckwheat dumplings, tofu, and konjac skewered together, lightly grilled, then coated with a flavorful miso sauce and grilled again.
In the past, the art of puppet theater, known as Joruri, flourished in the Awa region after spreading from Awaji Island. The name "Deko Mawashi" comes from the process of rotating the skewers while grilling, which resembles the movements of the puppets, or "deko," in the traditional puppet plays.
