Miwa Somen
A specialty from the birthplace of somen, the Miwa region
เกี่ยวกับ Miwa Somen
Miwa Somen (三輪そうめん, Miwa somen) is a type of somen noodle produced primarily in the Miwa region of Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture, which is said to be the birthplace of somen.
Crafted using traditional kneading techniques, these noodles are exceptionally thin yet boast a firm texture that resists breaking when cooked. They also offer a delightful smoothness and distinct bite.
In summer, they are enjoyed chilled, and in winter, they are served warm in a dish called nyumen, making them a beloved dish all year round.
