Hyuganatsu
A perfect harmony of sweetness and tartness
About Hyuganatsu
Hyuganatsu (日向夏, Hyuganatsu) is a citrus fruit native to Miyazaki Prefecture, which boasts the highest production of this specialty fruit in Japan. This unique citrus was initially discovered as a natural seedling in the late Edo period (1818–1829) in the Sohi area, near Akegawa Village in present-day Miyazaki City.
Packed with a balanced array of vitamins, minerals, and fiber, Hyuganatsu is enjoyed by eating both its fluffy white pith (albedo) and its juicy flesh together. The flesh is refreshingly tart, while the sweet white pith softens the tanginess, creating a delightful flavor combination. Its nutritional benefits and harmonious taste make it an ideal citrus choice.
When you take a bite, you'll experience the perfect blend of mild sweetness and the bright acidity of its yellow fruit. The juiciness bursts with flavor, complemented by its rich and pleasing aroma. The refreshing aftertaste lingers delightfully, leaving you enchanted by this exceptional fruit.
