Muroran curry ramen introduction

“Muroran Curry Ramen” is a local ramen loved mainly in Muroran City, Hokkaido, and features spicy, thick curry soup and chewy, curly noodles unique to Hokkaido. Pork, vegetables, seaweed, etc. are used as ingredients, and they are in perfect harmony with curry soup. This ramen was born in Tomakomai City in the 1960s, then moved to Muroran City and became established. Over the years, it was supported by local people, and now it is so popular that it is offered at around 60% of ramen shops in Muroran City. You can enjoy different soups and ingredients at each store, and they have unique curry ramen. The “Muroran Curry Ramen Association” was established in 2006, and activities are being carried out to spread its name all over the country as the “fourth flavor of Hokkaido ramen” following “Sapporo miso, Asahikawa soy sauce, and Hakodate salt.” This ramen, which is attracting attention from tourists, has established itself as a local specialty, and is now popular as a representative dish of Muroran City. The soup has a rich flavor with curry paste added to the pork bone base, and some stores also offer spices that can be adjusted to the desired level of spiciness. In addition to ramen, the style of putting rice as a set and enjoying the leftover soup until the end is also popular.
