Wajima fugu introduction

Wajima in Ishikawa prefecture has one of the leading fishing ports “Wajima Port” in the prefecture, where many seafood from the Sea of Japan is landed throughout the year. Various natural blowfish such as tiger puffer fish, red puffer fish, sesame puffer fish, shosai fugu, and white mackerel puffer fish have been landed in the Noto region, but the fugu that is landed at the port of Wajima is called “Wajima fugu.” Wajima City (Wajima fugu) recorded first place for 5 consecutive years since 2011, surrendered the top position to Hamada City in 16 and came in second place, but it recaptured the number one in Japan in 17 and became number one in Japan in 18. You can easily eat fugu at home, such as the famous “dried blowfish” from the Wajima morning market, and the popular “blowfish tataki” and “deep-fried blowfish.”
