White Gyoza
Locally known as "Hwa-Gyo," the soul food of Noda City, Chiba
About White Gyoza
White Gyoza (ホワイト餃子, Howaito Gyoza) originated from a specialty shop in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture. The founder learned the recipe from Mr. Bai, a Chinese man he met in Manchuria, and this unique gyoza was born. Unlike traditional gyoza, its shape and texture are completely different. Its standout feature is the thick, crispy skin, pan-fried to golden perfection, giving it an appearance more like inari sushi than gyoza. Inside, it’s packed with flavorful fillings of meat and vegetables. The crispy texture and savory interior make it irresistibly delicious—perfect when paired with a cold beer.
