Okukuji Shamo is a chicken raised in a mountainous area surrounded by nature in Okukuji in the northern part of Ibaraki Prefecture. Shamo is written in kanji and is originally a breed for chicken fighting, so the meat is tight, low-fat, crunchy, and has a rich taste with deep richness. You can enjoy a variety of ways to eat such as yakitori, hot pot dishes, fried chicken etc.
