Aigake Jindai Curry
"Traditional-style Curry" and "Modern-style Curry"
About Aigake Jindai Curry
Aigake Jindai Curry (あいがけ神代カレー, Aigake Jindai kare) originates from the Jindai district in Semboku City, Akita Prefecture, a region celebrated for its organic Akita Komachi rice production.
This unique dish combines the delicious locally grown rice with two distinct curry styles. The "traditional-style curry roux" brings back the nostalgic flavors of homemade curry, made by sautéing flour and curry powder, while the "modern-style curry roux" is European-inspired and based on a rich demi-glace sauce.
To top it off, the dish features an onsen egg (a soft-boiled egg cooked in hot spring water) and is served with "iburigakko," a specialty Akita pickled daikon radish that has been smoked for extra depth of flavor. Aigake Jindai Curry offers a perfect harmony of old and new culinary traditions.
