About Kuroishi Yakisoba
Kuroishi Yakisoba (黒石やきそば, Kuroishi yakisoba) features thick, flat noodles that might resemble udon at first glance. However, the noodles have a delightfully chewy texture and are coated in a rich Worcestershire sauce, creating a one-of-a-kind flavor experience.
First created shortly after World War II, Kuroishi Yakisoba became a popular treat for children in the 1950s, sold for just 10 yen per serving. To this day, you can still find shops serving this delightful handmade snack, sometimes for as little as 100 yen, preserving its humble, nostalgic origins.
