Decchi Yokan introduction

“Do-chi-yokan” is a yokan made by mixing flour with adzuki bean paste and sugar, which is a local specialty of Shiga Prefecture, and steaming it, and is characterized by being wrapped in bamboo skin. There are theories such as the name because it was a price that was easy for Ding Chichi and the others to buy, or because Ding Cha made it and brought it back as a souvenir to his husband or banto at the place of service, so there are theories that it comes from the “deciphering” process. They are also sold at manufacturing stores and supermarkets, and can be eaten all year round. It was selected as an intangible folk cultural property “Shiga Food Cultural Property” selected by Shiga Prefecture in Heisei 10.
