About River shrimp (shrimps)

River shrimp is the blessing of the river nurtured by the clear stream of Kochi. It is caught from spring to summer at Shimanto River and Niyodo River. Since the male scissors are longer than the length of the body, they are named “shrimps”.
Deep-fried or simmered for each bite, it has a delicious taste that creates a beautiful scene. Capture the fruits of the river created by the rich climate using the traditional techniques of river fishermen and chew them in gratitude for the activities of nature. It is Tosa's old-fashioned food culture.
