Hōtō
When it comes to Yamanashi's local cuisine, Hōtō is a must-try!
About Hōtō
Hōtō (ほうとう) is the signature dish of Yamanashi Prefecture. This hearty and rustic meal features flat, thick noodles made from wheat flour, simmered in a miso-based broth with ingredients like pumpkin, potatoes, mushrooms, seasonal vegetables, and sometimes meat. Packed with nutrients and wonderfully warming, it’s especially delightful during the chilly winter months.
