Dutch ware
“Holland-yaki”, a specialty dish that originated in Yuzawa, Akita prefectureDutch ware introduction
The appearance of “Dutch yaki” is similar to oban-yaki or imagawa-yaki. However, it is not red bean paste or cream that is contained in a fluffy sweet dough like waffles, but ham and mayonnaise. Salt and sourness are mixed with the sweet dough, and you can enjoy the exquisite flavor and melting texture. “Holland-yaki” is said to have been named “Dutch yaki” because the ham to be put inside is arranged like the wings of a windmill, and its appearance resembles a Dutch windmill.
