As its name suggests, it is a spherical konjac of about 3 cm. It is sold in skewers in tourist spots and events. Although board konjac and yarn konjac are popular throughout the country, 'tama-konjac' is a food culture unique to Yamagata Prefecture. Yamagata residents eat tama-konjac every day. It is popular to cook it in soy sauce for about 15 minutes, then put on the soy sauce and eat it.
