Mitarashi dango are skewer dango topped with kudzu bean paste, a sugar soy sauce, which is widely popular in Gifu prefecture.
Most of them are sweet sauces, and the perfect balance of soy sauce and sugar is entwined in the dumplings, and they are loved by adults and children alike.
Soy sauce is used in the Hida region. The burnt, savory scent of soy sauce induces appetite, and is popular among tourists visiting.
