Senzanki
The origin of Japanese fried chicken from Imabari
About Senzanki
Senzanki (せんざんき) is a local specialty from the Imabari area in the eastern part of Ehime Prefecture, and it is said to be the origin of Japan's beloved fried chicken.
This dish features juicy pieces of chicken marinated with soy sauce, sake, garlic, and other seasonings, then fried to crispy perfection. Its irresistible flavor will have you hooked after just one bite!
The name "Senzanki" comes from the way the chicken was traditionally prepared, cutting it into pieces as if making "a thousand cuts."
