Bujen Hon-Gani
"Bujen Hon-Gani," packed with rich flavor from the blessings of Buzen Sea's tidal flats
About Bujen Hon-Gani
Bujen Hon-Gani (豊前本ガニ) comes from the Buzen Sea, known for its expansive tidal flats shaped by significant tidal changes. This area is one of Japan’s top producers of swimming crabs. Only the largest and meatiest crabs are selected and branded as Bujen Hon-Gani.
Raised in nutrient-rich tidal flats, Bujen Hon-Gani is prized for its deep, rich umami and natural sweetness. It is a favorite ingredient for dishes like miso soup or hot pots, where its flavors truly shine. During autumn, male crabs are at their peak, while in winter, female crabs with their roe are highly sought after for their exquisite taste.
