Kibi Dango
The classic Okayama souvenir, "Kibi Dango"

About Kibi Dango
Kibi Dango (きびだんご, Kibi dango) is a traditional sweet from Okayama, a region famous for its peach production and its association with the beloved Japanese folktale of "Momotaro" (Peach Boy).
These treats became popular as a symbol of good fortune because they were the source of energy for Momotaro on his quest to defeat demons.
Kibi Dango is typically made by blending powdered glutinous rice with sweet rice syrup and crafting it into a chewy mochi-like consistency, then flavored with millet for a distinct taste. With its gentle sweetness and soft, comforting texture, Kibi Dango has long been cherished as a delightful snack enjoyed by people of all ages, offering a soothing treat to ease exhaustion.
