Asahi crab introduction

Miyazaki prefecture is a production area for Asahi crab. The season for Asahi crab in Miyagi prefecture is early summer and autumn. In particular, it seems that Asahi crab around May before the spawning season is tightly packed with meat and miso. General crabs are longer in width and walk sideways, but Asahi crabs are elliptical and vertically long. As a result, I can't walk sideways, and I walk like moving forward or backward. Another characteristic is that it has a vivid vermilion red color. Asahi crabs inhabit the seas of western Japan along the Kuroshio Current (from the south of the Osumi Peninsula to the south of Wakayama prefecture), mainly in the southern part of Kyushu. Since it lives on a sandy area with a depth of about 10 to 50 m, it weakens when it is lifted on land due to water pressure, and it is vulnerable to high temperatures, so the area where it can be eaten is limited. Miyazaki is a valuable place where you can eat delicious Asahi crab because it is close to a fishing ground.
