Wakasa Beef
An exquisite taste crafted by history, nature, and heartfelt care: Wakasa Beef
About Wakasa Beef
Wakasa Beef (若狭牛, Wakasa gyu) is a top-grade wagyu beef, carefully selected under stringent standards from Japanese Black cattle lovingly raised by dedicated farmers in the bountiful natural environment of Echizen Wakasa.
Cattle have been raised in the Wakasa region since ancient times, with their meat becoming a delicacy in the Meiji era (late 19th century). Known for their gentle temperament, the cattle are of high-quality Tajima lineage, famed for their premium wagyu traits. They are fed a specially formulated mix of feed, primarily corn, to enhance the natural sweetness of the meat.
Wakasa Beef is celebrated for its vibrant color, fine texture, and exceptional tenderness. Its beautifully marbled fat creates a meltingly rich yet delicately sweet flavor, leaving a clean, balanced aftertaste that has earned widespread acclaim.
