Sauce Yakisoba-style Udon
One of Japan’s Top 5 Grilled Udon Dishes! Hatogaya's Sauce Yakisoba-style Udon
About Sauce Yakisoba-style Udon
Sauce Yakisoba-style Udon (ソース焼きうどん, Sauce yaki udon) is a flavorful dish originating from Hatogaya. Born as part of a revitalization project between a local sauce manufacturer and the Chamber of Commerce, this udon is packed with history and local pride.
At first, you might expect an intensely rich flavor due to the sauce, but surprisingly, it’s light and well-balanced, making it hard to stop eating. With its hearty portions, it provides more fullness compared to typical yakisoba.
Though Hatogaya was merged into Kawaguchi City in 2011 and no longer exists as a separate city, this comforting and timeless dish continues to live on.
