Happo-cho in Akita prefecture is located in the vast World Natural Heritage Site “Shirakami-Sanchi”. The watershed and the coast are designated as Hachimori Iwadate Prefectural Natural Park, and clean water rich in nature flows abundantly into the sea. There is an aquaculture farm that uses an elementary school that has been closed, and “Shirakami Abalone” grew up there. Since it is grown in seawater from the Sea of Japan, which is suitable for farming abalone, it is characterized by being soft and delicious to the liver.
