Iwata Omoro Curry introduction

In the Enshu region, “pork foot” has been called “omoro” since ancient times. The etymology is uncertain, but it is said that it comes from the Ryukyu word “omoro.” It has taken root as a local dish where prepared pork legs are stewed sweetly and spicy with sugar and soy sauce, eaten with vinegared miso, or browned and grilled on the surface. It is “Iwata Omoro Curry” developed by local volunteers for the purpose of revitalizing the town using this “Omoro.” It is a local specialty that goes great with spicy curry broth boiled so soft that it melts in your mouth.
