Kureha Pear
Juicy sweetness with a satisfying crisp bite
Kureha Pear introduction
The Kureha Pear (呉羽梨, Kureha nashi) is a premium brand of pears grown in the Kureha district, representing the best of Toyama Prefecture's produce. Unlike most pear farms, where fruits are protected with bags during cultivation to guard against pests and diseases, Kureha Pears are grown using a bag-free method. This approach allows the fruit to fully bask in sunlight, fresh air, and wind, harnessing the natural blessings of the environment. All Kureha pear farmers are certified eco-farmers who adhere to low-pesticide farming practices, making the Kureha region a leading area for eco-friendly agriculture. The result is a pear that is naturally sweet with minimal acidity. Each bite bursts with refreshingly juicy flesh, delivering unparalleled flavor. The main varieties include "Kousui" (幸水), "Housui" (豊水), and "Niitaka" (新高), with the newer "Akizuki" variety also gaining popularity in recent years.
