Kurehanashi
Superb flavor with strong sweetness and plenty of water for a crisp, chewy textureKurehanashi introduction
Kureha pears are a brand pear representing Toyama prefecture cultivated in the Kureha district. In order to protect the fruit from diseases and pests, a typical pear farmer performs “bagging” by covering the pear fruit with a bag. Kureha pears are cultivated without bags, but pear farmers in Kureha grow by receiving sufficient natural blessings such as sun, wind, and fresh air through “bagless cultivation” without bags. Also, all pear farmers have received eco-farmer certification with reduced pesticides, and the Kureha area is a thorough eco-friendly agricultural area. Thanks to that, they are the best pears, with a lot of sweetness and little acidity, and the fresh flesh spreads throughout the mouth when you chew them. There are three main varieties: “kosui (kosui),” “hosui (hosui),” and “niitaka (niitaka),” and recently a variety called “akizuki” has also appeared.
